Privacy Policy

FlatTest is software for backflow testing companies, run by a small independent operator. This page explains, in plain words, what we store and what we do with it. If anything here is unclear, write to support@flattest.app.

What we store

• Your account details: your name, company name, email address, and a hashed (never plain-text) version of your password.
• The customer contact information you enter: names, phone numbers, email addresses, and billing addresses for the people and properties you test for.
• Your device and test records: assembly details, test readings, results, and the report PDFs generated from them.

How we use it

We use your information only to run FlatTest for you: to log tests, build report PDFs, and send reminder emails to your customers on your behalf, with your company name on them. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your customers' contact details for anything except the reminders you set up.

Emails we send

We send reminder emails to your customers when their devices come due, on your behalf. Payment receipts come from Polar, our payment provider. We do not send marketing email to your customers.

Payments

Payments are handled by Polar. We never see or store your full card number. Polar keeps the billing details needed to charge your subscription.

Who else touches your data

We rely on a few service providers to run FlatTest, such as our hosting, our email delivery service, and Polar for payments. They only handle what they need to in order to provide their part of the service. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

Your control

• Export your customers and devices to CSV, and download your report PDFs, any time from inside the app.
• Cancel any time. Your data stays put until you ask us to remove it.
• Ask us to delete your account and its data by writing to support@flattest.app.

Security

Passwords are stored hashed, not in plain text. Your records are tied to your account, and one account cannot see another's data. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.

Changes to this page

If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Questions are always welcome at support@flattest.app.
